Bracing
At Physicians Rehabilitation we utilize braces for back, neck and knees for pain relief, to allow healing and provide support during treatment. Bracing provides support to the weakened body area by decreasing stress to lessen pain, allow healing and increase mobility.
Knee Bracing
Physicians Rehabilitation provides an advanced Osteoarthritis Knee joint unloading brace to extend the healing process after patients receive our non-surgical Knee Viscosupplementation therapy. This knee support device increases joint space reducing the pressure on the cartilage of the knee and the knee cap. This un-loading effect aids the viscosupplement that has been injected to bond with the knee joint’s existing synovial fluid with greater ease. As a result of combining bracing and physical therapy with our Osteoarthritis Knee Therapy, Physicians Rehabilitation’s patients realize faster and longer lasting pain relief leading to increased mobility. Hear our patients talk about the results of our Osteoarthritis Knee Therapy program. Physicians Rehabilitation Delivers on Non-Surgical, Out-Patient Knee Pain Relief. Our custom designed knee brace enables a truly efficient post viscosupplement injection out-patient pain management protocol. With an unloading component, the brace opens the joint to decrease the bone-on-bone rubbing and remove stress on the surrounding cartilage and knee cap. Knee Brace Fitting
As part of our non-surgical knee protocol, our experts fit this custom designed knee brace as an important element of your rehabilitation. This in combination with physical therapy following viscosupplementation injections is key to a successful knee therapy program.
Back Bracing
There are two types of back braces. One back brace is used to correct spine curvature by straightening the spine. The other type of back brace helps stabilize the core muscle groups around the spine to promote healing, avoid further injury and reduce pain. The stabilizing brace is often utilized in combination with our VAX-D Decompression Treatments and physical therapy.
Depending on the area of stress, stabilizing back braces are selected and fitted to help the following conditions:
- Herniated Disks
- Sciatica
- Degenerative Disk Disease

Neck Bracing
Neck braces stabilize your cervical spine after a neck injury, neck surgery or to avoid neck surgery. For those who also suffer with herniated, bulging disks or degenerative disc disease the neck is supported in addition to back bracing as a part of the treatment program. Braces for the neck range from the stiffest brace that allow little to no neck movement to more pliable supporting braces for soft tissue healing.
For injuries such as a relatively stable cervical fracture, cervical fusion surgery, a cervical strain or as part of a broader disc-related treatment, a rigid collar that attaches with Velcro on each side is typically worn continually until your physician recommends removal.
Common causes of cervical (neck) injuries include:
- Whiplash
- Falls – primarily seen in seniors
- Sports Related Accidents – Weekend Warriors
- Osteoporosis causing a fractured or collapsed vertebra
- Herniated, bulging discs or degenerative disc disease
