What is sciatica, and how is it treated?
Sciatica describes the specific set of symptoms that occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes compressed by a bone spur, bulging disc, shifting vertebra, or another component of the spine. The sciatic nerve is the longest and largest in the body, starting at the lower back and splitting to run through both of the legs and feet. When this nerve is compressed, unpleasant symptoms like radiating pain, muscle weakness, and tingling sensations can occur throughout the lower body.
We take a well-rounded approach to treatment by utilizing multiple evidence-based therapies, such as physical therapy, bracing, chiropractic care, spinal decompression, and minimally invasive nerve block procedures, to reduce nerve compression and relieve symptoms.
